AcceLINX, the musculoskeletal health business accelerator launched by OrthoWorx, announced today that client RAZOR Medical Instruments Inc (RAZOR), a transformative instrumentation and technology company marketing single-use instruments to the orthopedic joint replacement industry, has chosen to relocate its headquarters from New Hampshire to Warsaw.
RAZOR has leased office space at the OrthoWorx/AcceLINX offices in Warsaw to accommodate short term needs.
The relocation of RAZOR is the culmination of months of work by AcceLINX, OrthoWorx, Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO), the City of Warsaw and the IEDC to demonstrate the value of relocating to Indiana. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered a package of incentives to RAZOR.
RAZOR employs 9 people, several of whom will be relocating to Warsaw. Additional hiring of 63 people over the next three years is anticipated by the company. RAZOR expects to utilize the extensive medical device contract-manufacturing pool that exists in northeastern Indiana. The company estimates that such expenditures could generate hundreds of new jobs within the supplier base over the next several years.
RAZOR began working with AcceLINX more than two and a half years ago to refine its quality, regulatory and marketing programs to bring its products to market. According to Bruce Khalili, President of RAZOR, its product line will include single-use instruments used in joint replacement procedures. Mr. Khalili added, “RAZOR technologies will reduce inefficiencies associated with reusable instruments at the OEM and hospital level. The use of single-use instruments facilitates the migration of total joint procedures from the hospital setting to ambulatory care centers.”
