“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.” – Steve Jobs
I recently had an opportunity to speak with a business owner in our community about how they recruit employees to the area, or more specifically what about our community is attractive to people moving here.
We talked about the competitive cost of living, the quality of schools, and access to amenities in nearby cities, in particular. We also joked about one being able to save so much money on housing costs her compared to higher cost markets like California, to be able to visit places like California anytime one wanted.
One of my favorite things about Kosciusko County is the impressive restaurant scene in our community. Not surprisingly, one of our restaurants (Cerulean in Winona Lake) was recently named to the “20 IN 20” list of destination dining experiences in Indiana.
What are your favorite things about Kosciusko County? As we begin to focus our work on supporting businesses with talent recruitment, we want to know what makes this community special. Drop me a line or tag us on social media at @KosciuskoEDC.
Look for an invitation in the next few days to our first-ever Outside the Fishbowl event, which will be a place for people who have moved into our community to meet each other and share their perspectives (and questions) about living in Kosciusko County.
