WARSAW, Ind. (August 14, 2024) – The Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) invites community members to submit nominations for the 2024 Rising Leader and Business Impact awards, which will be announced at the KEDCO Annual Meeting & 40th Anniversary Celebration in late October.
KEDCO began accepting nominations earlier this summer, and will accept nominations until next Friday, August 23.
The KEDCO Rising Leader award recognizes professionals under the age of 40 for everyday exceptional leadership in the workplace and within our community. These individuals could be influential entrepreneurs, outstanding employees, or active contributors to making Kosciusko County an even brighter place to live, work, and thrive.
Nominees must be under the age of 40 and must live OR work in Kosciusko County. Nominations must highlight at least one of three areas:
- Nominee’s involvement and leadership in the workplace as an employee
- Nominee’s leadership as a business owner
- Nominee’s involvement in the local community

“We want to recognize difference-makers in our community, and making a difference doesn’t necessarily look like a ‘huge’ achievement,” said KEDCO CEO Peggy Friday. “When we show up for one another and our community consistently, we make a big difference! We especially encourage local businesses to participate because it’s a great way to recognize and extend gratitude to someone on your team.”
Additionally, KEDCO is seeking feedback from local business owners for the Business Impact awards. Business Impact awards recognize local companies for business investments such as adding new jobs, growing and expanding capabilities, and adding workplace programs, or by giving back in big ways to the local community.
“Employers of all sizes are pouring into their teams and our community, and they’re significantly boosting our local economy,” said Friday. “Too often, these successes fly under the radar and go unrecognized. That’s why we’re asking for help with collecting these successes so we can highlight the remarkable impact our local business community is making!”
