Like you, our team at KEDCo continues to respond to near-term challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, while also keeping an eye toward opportunities offered to propel us forward.
We are reaching out to local business leaders to review their current needs and determine what resources we can connect them to (especially related to newly enacted federal grant and loan programs). Drop me a line if you have not yet heard from us and would like to chat.
One way you can help our community prepare for the future is by completing the 2020 United States Census. For the first time ever, the US Census Bureau is accepting responses online (it took me 5-10 minutes to complete it on my iPhone) at the link HERE.
In case you are wondering, “why is the 2020 Census important to me,” consider that Census data informs funding for more than 100 federal programs, including school lunches and highway construction, and determines how congressional districts are redrawn – Indiana lost a seat in the House of Representatives following the 2000 Census!
I can tell you that the current response rate for Kosciusko County is behind state and federal response rates, so please take time this week to respond. No doubt you have heard many people say, “we’re in this together” in our response to COVID-19 and the same is true for the 2020 Census.
