A few of you know that one of my favorite quotes is this one from Arthur Ashe. It reminds me that sometimes you just have to take the first step and see where it leads you.
In recent weeks, I have shared details about our emerging talent initiative, which certainly fits within the ‘start where you are’ mindset. Here’s the thing, in addition to recruiting talent to the area, we also want to do whatever we can to retain talent in our community.
We know there have been reductions in force events at a few local firms in recent weeks and months. We also believe we can help individuals involved continue their career journeys in our community.
To that end, please help us connect with contacts in your network who are looking for their next employment opportunity. You can email me directly and I will make the appropriate connections. I am confident we can find the right resources partners to support individuals at any stage of their careers.
You can also encourage individuals to attend our regular monthly events such as The Circuit entrepreneur meetup or the Outside the Fishbowl newcomers meetup.
Finally, we are considering whether to host a networking group specifically for individuals involved in a career transition. Please also drop me a line if you have suggestions or if you would like to be involved in this outreach.
